I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE OF KENKO TELEPHOTO CONVERTER SERIES. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN KENKO TELEPLUS TELECONVERTER SERIES?

Kenko offers two current series – Teleplus HD Pro DGX and Teleplus HD DGX. Teleplus DGX MC4/MC7 are discontinued and replaced by Teleplus HD DGX. Teleplus HD Pro DGX feature enhanced optics and improved multi-layer coatings for better performance with modern high-resolution digital cameras. Teleplus HD DGX offer excellent optics at a reduced price point.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1.4X AND 2.0X TELECONVERTERS?

Kenko Teleplus teleconverters will work with many lenses on the market (please refer to our compatibility chart). The 1.4x teleconverter will multiply your lens’ focal distance by 1.4x, with a corresponding loss of one (1) stop of light. For instance, your 70-210mm f/4 lens will now give you the same optical results as a 98-210mm f/5.6. The 2.0x teleconverter will multiply your lens’ focal distance by double, with a corresponding loss of two (2) stops of light. Your 70-210mm f/4 will now give you the same optical results as a 140-420mm f/8 lens.
Please note that autofocus performance may be affected by adding a teleconverter to your lens. 1.4x Teleconverters work well with most lenses, including variable aperture lenses such as 150-600 f/5-6.3 telephoto lenses. 2.0x teleconverters are designed to work with lenses f/4 or faster.
For DSLR Owners: If autofocus performance, and focus tracking performance, are important to you, choose Teleplus 1.4x teleconverters. Most DSLRs will not autofocus if the working aperture is f/8 or darker. Try Live View but performance is not guaranteed.

Most modern mirrorless cameras can now autofocus to f/11 or f/16 and may perform better with 2.0x Teleconverters and variable aperture lenses.

WILL KENKO TELECONVERTERS WORK WITH THE LENS THAT CAME WITH MY CAMERA (I.E., 18-55MM)?
Teleconverters are designed for and tested with telephoto lenses (70-200mm, 100-400mm, etc.) There may be a physical block on your kit lens that will prevent a teleconverter from properly fitting. A good guideline is to check if the rear element of your lens is recessed into the lens throughout the zoom range or if the rear element sits flush with the lens mount. If the rear element is always recessed, your lens should be teleconverter safe. If the rear element is flush with the lens mount, you risk physically damaging your lens and/or teleconverter. Kenko Canada accepts no responsibility for the use or mis-use of its teleconverters and makes no warranties as to the compatibility and usage of its products with you camera and/or lenses.

I FOUND THAT THE PRODUCT I PURCHASED DOES NOT WORK WELL AND I NEED IT TO BE REPAIRED. CAN YOU DIRECTLY SUPPORT ABOUT RETURNS AND REPAIRS?

I PURCHASED ONE OF YOUR ITEMS ON INTERNET (EBAY, ETC.), BUT I’M AFRAID IT’S NOT A KENKO ORIGINAL PRODUCT.

A lot of fake products are available on the market nowadays.

We will make everything possible to help you, but being distantly away we may not always be able to determine whether an item is official or not.

Please keep it in mind and be careful when you choose the retailer you will purchase your item from.

MY ITEM IS BROKEN BUT I KNOW HOW TO FIX IT SO I JUST NEED SOME SPARE PARTS…

We do not provide spare parts to costumers.

We do not suggest repairs at home or without using repairs facilities.

Please consult our repair centre.

Also be aware that, in most of the cases, the damaged part cannot be simply substituted (ex. built-in parts), so that proper repairs will be necessary.

I WANT TO BUY A KENKO FILTER, BUT I DON’T KNOW WHICH SIZE WILL FIT MY LENS.

Please consult your lens’ technical specification chart, usually provided in your lens’ instruction manual or manufacturer web site.

Alternatively, check the inner side of your lens’ front cap.

DO KENKO REAL PRO CLIP LENSES FIT TO SMART PHONES WITH CASES?

Kenko Real Pro Clip lenses are designed to fit up to 30mm wide smart phone or devices, but have been developed to be applied directly to their plain surfaces, for optimal steadiness and best performances. Therefore, we do not suggest their usage on smart phone covers and the like.
